Former ONE featherweight champion Honorio Banario of Baguio City's Team Lakay is back on the winner's column following a unanimous decision win over Rahul Raju on the undercard of 'ONE: Conquest of Champions' Friday night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Banario opened the contest with leg kicks and knees that landed on the mid-section. Raju tried to take the fight to the ground, but the Filipino's improved takedown defense kept the two standing up.

After several exchange of strikes in round two, both fighters competed on the ground where Banario attempted a kimura and an armbar submission.

They finished the round on their feet with Banario landing his right straights and trademark left hook.

Both fighters showed signs of exhaustion in round three. None of the two had crisp in their punches and can barely get anything going when the fight is on the ground.

All three judges scored the fight for Banario after three five-minute rounds. He moved his record to 14-7 while Raju fell to 4-4. — BAP, GMA News
