Reigning ONE heavyweight champion Brandon Vera needed just 64 seconds to retain his title following a knockout victory over Mauro Cerilli in the main event of 'ONE: Conquest of Champions' Friday night at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
The challenger came out swinging as predicted while Vera patiently waited for an opening.
As Cerilli lunged in with bad intentions, Vera caught him with a hard left hook that immediately sent the Italian crashing to the canvas.
The referee was quick to step in and stop the fight at the 1:04 mark of round one. The win improved Vera's record to 16-7 while Cerilli fell to 12-3. — BAP, GMA News
