Yulo receives P500,000 cash reward from Manila gov't
The Manila City government on Thursday awarded gymnast Carlos Yulo with P500,000 cash incentive after winning gold in the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships.
Yulo, a Manileño, paid a courtesy call on Mayor Isko Moreno at the Manila City Hall. Moreno handed Yulo the cash award.
The Manila City Council, meanwhile, approved a resolution to confer on Yulo the highest honors for being the first Filipino world champion in gymnastics.
The teenager, who returned to the Philippines on Tuesday, has qualified to compete in the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Yulo will go back to Tokyo, Japan this week to continue his training in preparation for the South East Asian Games and 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Yulo had earlier received P1 million from President Rodrigo Duterte. —KBK, GMA News
