PHL gets two more bronzes in speed skating, pencak silat

Marc Joseph Gonzales claimed a bronze medal in short track speed skating at the Southeast Asian Games on Wednesday at the SM Megamall Skating Rink.

Gonzales clocked in 1:32.176 to place third in the men's 1000m, finishing just a little more than a second behind the top two skaters.

Natthapat Kancharin of Thailand won the gold medal with a time of 1:31.117, while Indonesia bagged the silver with 1:31.163.

In pencak silat action, Dines Dumaan settled for bronze in the men's tanding class B (50-55kg) category.

Vietnam's Dinh Tuan Nguyen defeated Dumaan, 3-2, in the semifinals at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center. —MGP, GMA News
