PHL snags 2 bronzes in men's 9-ball pool doubles


The Philippines finished with two bronze medals in the men's 9-ball pool doubles at the Southeast Asian Games at the Manila Hotel.

The pairs of Jeffrey Ignacio-Warren Kiamco and Carlo Biado-Johann Chua both fell in their semifinal matches on Wednesday evening.

On Thursday, Myanmar's Aung Moe Thu and Phone Myint Kyaw went on to win the gold medal against Singapore's Toh Lian Han and Aloysius Yapp in the final.

Biado bounced back in the men's 10-ball pool singles, defeating Darryl Chia of Malaysia 9-4 in the Round of 16.

Dennis Orcollo also won his match in the same category, beating Brunei's Muhammad Azim Abu Bakar, 9-4.

Meanwhile, Alvin Barbero and Jefrey Roda marched to the finals in men's snooker doubles after beating Ko Htet and Thet Min Lin of Myanmar, 3-0.

In the men's 1-cushion carom, Francisco Dela Cruz dismantled Thailand's Yuttapop Pakpoj 100-30 to advance to the semifinals.
