Hallasgo, Tabal rush to 1-2 finish for PHL in women's marathon

The Philippines once again ruled the women's marathon at the Southeast Asian Games as Christine Hallasgo and Mary Joy Tabal bagged the gold and silver medals on Friday.

Hallasgo registered a time of 2:56:56 to dethrone 2017 gold medalist Tabal, who clocked in nearly two minutes behind the new champion.

The Olympian recorded a time of 2:58:49 for the silver to complete the country's 1-2 finish.

Thi Hong Le Pham of Vietnam took the bronze with a time of 3:02:52.
