Sure gold in SEA Games tennis as PHL pairs set up All-Pinoy finals
The Philippines is assured of a gold medal after Filipino tennis duos won both semifinal matches of the men's doubles event in the 30th Southeast Asian Games on Friday at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.
The duo of Ruben Gonzales Jr. and Treat Huey emerged victorious against Vietnam's Le Quoc Khanh and Ly Hoang Nam in the semis, 6-1 and 6-3.

In the other bracket, Francis Alcantara and Jeson Patrombon won over Viets Daniel Cao and Phuong Nguyen, 6-3, 6-1.
The gold medal match is slated on Saturday at 1 p.m.
In the singles matches, Alberto Lim Jr. and Patrombon added bronze medals in the Philippines' medal haul after the games against their Vietnameese opponents.
Patrombon won over Vietnamese Ly Hoang Nam in the first set, 7-5, but the latter dominated Patrombon in the next two sets, 6-1 and 6-3.
For his part, Lim showed might but fell short against Vietnamese Cao Nguyen Daniel, 6-3 and 6-4. —Justin Kenneth Carandang/JST, GMA News
