9-time SEA Games gold medalists Blu Girls call for support in finals
The Philippine women's softball team is asking for support as it guns for their tenth Southeast Asian (SEA) Games title on Sunday.
In a Facebook post Friday, Blu Girls captain Chezka Altomonte called on everyone to rally behind them.
"Our championship game is on Sunday, December 8 at 9:00am in The Villages, Clark. I know our venue is far. I know. But we would absolutely LOVE to play in front of a home crowd for the first time as the Philippine National Women’s Softball Team," she said in her post.
According to Altomonte, their team has yet to experience a game with a Filipino crowd cheering for them as the country hosts the biennial meet.
"The Southeast Asian Games is ending and we have yet to experience a crowd," Altomonte said. "We’ve made a name for ourselves in the international softball community - help us make a name for ourselves in our own country."
