Hermie Macaranas snags gold medal in canoe
Hermie Macaranas raced through the gold in canoe for his second medal at the Southeast Asian Games on Saturday at the Malawaan Park, Subic Bay.
Macaranas ruled the men's singles 200m with a time of 43.60 seconds, narrowly edging Myo Hlaing Win of Myanmar who clocked in at 43.75 seconds.
Vietnam's Anh Duc Duong claimed the bronze, finishing at 44.33 seconds.
In the men's doubles 200m, Macaranas and Ojay Fuentes clinched the silver after finishing at 41.08 seconds.
Indonesia's Mehue Spens Stuber and Marjuki Marjuki took the gold with a time of 40.33 seconds. Quoc Toan Nguyen and Ngoc Sang Phan of Vietnam registered a time of 41.30 seconds to finish with the bronze.
On Friday, Macaranas won the silver in the men's single 1000m.
