Ruben Gonzales scores SEA Games silver medal and ‘yes’ from fiance

Filipino tennister Ruben Gonzales captured not only a silver medal in the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, but also a "yes" from fiance Michele Bumgarner as he asked for her hand in marriage on Saturday.

After falling short in the men's doubles event together with Treat Huey against compatriots Francis Alcantara and Jeson Patrombon, Alcantara surprised race car driver Bumgarner with his wedding proposal.

In an Instagram post, Bumgarner said she was still in shock after the surprise proposal.

"Still in such a shock. Can't believe I'm marrying my best friend and the absolute love of my life. I LOVE YOU @rubenninogonzales and to all our friends and family who kept this surprise from me! I LOVE YOU ALL!" Bumgarner wrote in her post.
