Centeno, Amit dominate billiards on Day 5
Chezka Centeno and Rubilen Amit raised the Philippine flag on the fifth day of billiards events at the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
Centeno emerged victorious against her idol, Amit, in the 10-ball pool finals held Saturday at the Manila Hotel Tent. Centeno defeated Amit in their third finals meet, 7-3.

However, prior to their face-off in the 10-ball gold medal match, they also won their own semis matches for the 9-ball pool singles category. Centeno defeated Singaporean Jessica Tan, 7-1, while Amit got over Thailand's Kongkaket Vutthiphan, 7-2.
The 9-ball pool singles finals was scheduled Sunday night, which will be their third straight face off in the category. Both players played for the gold in the same event in the 2015 and 2017 edition of the biennial meet.

Apart from being opponents, Amit and Centeno were also partners as they would enter the 9-pool doubles quarterfinals on Sunday against Thailand's Kongkaket Vutthiphan and Wannaprathip Sasiwimon. Amit and Centeno won against Vietnam's Bui Xuan Vang, Doan Thi Ngoc Ie in the Round of Last 12. The duo of Floriza Andal and Iris Rañola challenged Malaysia in the same category but fell short, 7-5.
In other events, Jeffrey Roda edged out Vietnam's Kieu Thien Khoi in the men's snooker singles round of last 16, 4-3, while Dennis Orcollo swept Indonesia's Sahroni, 9-0, in the men's 9-ball pool singles round of last 16.
Meanwhile, Alvin Barbero was swept by Laos' Sakbieng Siththideth, 4-0, in the men's snooker singles last 16. Kadir ismail of Indonesia defeated Carlo Biado, 9-2, in the men's 10-ball pool singles quarters, while Francisco dela Cruz was overwhelmed by Pham Canh Phuc in the 1-cushion carom event, 100-55.
