Eric Cray completes redemption with hurdles gold

Eric Cray successfully defended his title in the men's 400m hurdles to redeem himself at the Southeast Asian Games on Tuesday at the New Clark City Athletics Stadium.

Cray bagged his first individual gold medal with the victory, redeeming his unfortunate disqualification in the men's 100m due to false start in the heats.

The Olympian clocked in at 50.21 seconds to secure the gold, while Francis Medina came in third with 51.68 seconds to also cop the bronze for the Philippines.

Cong Lich Quach of Vietnam took the silver after registering 51.60 seconds.

Cray also won the gold medal in the 4X100m mixed relay after anchoring the Philippine team to the victory.

Meanwhile, Mark Harry Diones leaped to a silver medal finish in the men's triple jump, registering a distance of 16.42m behind gold medalist Malaysia.

In the women's 400m hurdles, Robyn Brown also bagged the bronze medal after finishing behind the Vietnamese tracksters.

Joida Gagnao also finished with the bronze in the women's 5000m earlier in the day.
