Mark Striegl makes weight for UFC debut
Filipino-American mixed martial arts fighter Mark Striegl successfully made weight for his UFC debut against Said Nurmagomedov on the prelims of UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs. The Korean Zombie on October 18 at Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.
The 2019 Southeast Asian Games gold medalist from Baguio City tipped the scale at 136 pounds while his opponent, Said Nurmagomedov, also weighed in at 136 pounds.
Striegl, 32, was originally scheduled to make his debut in August but was forced out of the fight after he tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19). He won four of his last five bouts and holds a professional MMA record of 18-2-1.
In the main event, both Brian Ortega and The Korean Zombie came in at a ready 146 pounds. They will duke it out inside the cage for five five-minute rounds. -- BAP, GMA News
