Carlos Yulo is now the world’s No. 1 in men’s floor exercise, according to the artistic gymnastics world rankings of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG).
Yulo, who won two bronze medals during the All-Japan Gymnastics Championship at Takasaki Arena on Dec. 13, finished at the top spot with 70 points.
He shares the recognition with Rayderley Zapata of Spain, while the third spot goes to Kirill Prokopev of Russia, who has a total of 64 points.
Yulo is one of the Filipino athletes bound for Tokyo Olympics in 2021, together with pole vaulter EJ Obiena and boxers Eumir Marcial and Irish Magno. – RC, GMA News
