Bren dispatches Todak, secures top 4 finish at MLBB World Championship

Bren Esports completed a reverse sweep of MPL MY/SG Champs Todak, 2-1, to secure a top 4 finish and move on to the lower bracket finals of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M2 World Championship.

The win arranged another rematch between Bren and Alter Ego, a budding rivalry that sprouted during the 2020 MPL Invitational Championship series. BREN swept Alter Ego during the group stages of M2.

Despite leading early in Game 1 behind Bren’s Pheww (Selena) who already had a 4-0-1 KDA in the first seven minutes of the match, Todak secured enough objectives and slowly trimmed down the opponent’s gold lead despite being behind in the kill tally.

A pivotal mid-lane clash in the 15th minute won by Todak, 2-1, led to an inhibitor turret push and luminous lord take that helped the Malaysian champs finish off their Filipino counterparts at the 17th minute.

It was a totally different story in Game 2 as Todak’s super tanky draft proved useless against Bren’s KarlTzy (Claude) and FlapTzy (Yu Zhong) who feasted on them throughout the match.

KarlTzy finished Game 2 with a 2-1-13 KDA while FlapTzy was flawless with an 8-0-6 KDA. Bren also dominated the kill tally at 18-5.

The defending MPL PH Champs carried the momentum in Game 3 as they quickly established a 3k gold lead as early as the 4th minute.

And just when Todak thought they trapped Bren in the mid-lane at the 6th minute, Lusty (Atlas) executed an excellent set with his Fatal Links that turned back the tables. KarlTzy (Harley) followed this up with a double kill for the 2-0 exchange.

Bren lorded over the map from then on and finished with a 25-6 kill tally after a wipeout of Todak in the 12th minute. KarlTzy led the way with a 10-3-9 KDA line while FlapTzy was superb in the sidelane with a 6-0-7 KDA. – RC, GMA News
