Hiroba Minowa prefers to avoid a rematch with Lito Adiwang

Japanese wrestler Hiroba Minowa would rather not fight Lito Adiwang again if it is up to him to decide.

The pair locked horns in October where the Japanese Shooto veteran emerged victorious via split decision after three rounds of back and forth action.

"I've been asked these questions a lot since my last fight. I understand everyone was expecting Lito [Adiwang] to win, but that didn't happen. I'm happy with the result of that fight," said Minowa.

"As for a rematch, I guess it's just Lito who's talking about it. Whether we do have a rematch or not, it's not my decision. It's ONE Championship's decision. If we have to rematch, then I'll rematch him."

Fans make their case for a rematch based on the observation that Minowa seemingly tapped in the first round but was not called by the referee.

It was a bout that could have gone either way and a rematch would tell who the better mixed martial artist is between the two.

But if Minowa is given a choice, he would rather fight someone in the top 5 of his division than settle the score with the Team Lakay standout.

"To be honest, I already beat him. I'm not interested in fighting him again in the near future. I'm more interested in competing against the higher-ranked fighters and making it to the top." —MGP, GMA News
