Alex Eala falls to Swiss foe in W60 Bellinzona
Tennis ace Alex Eala failed in her bid to advance to the quarterfinals of the W60 Bellinzona tournament in Switzerland after falling short against Swiss foe Simona Waltert, early Friday (Manila time).
Waltert defeated Eala, 7-5, 3-6, 6-2, in the third round of the competition, in a match that lasted for two hours and 18 minutes.
With the win, the Swiss player will go against Croatia's Jana Fett.
Eala and Waltert previously faced off in the early rounds of the W25 Manacor and W15 Manacor tournaments, where each player notched a win.
Prior to Waltert, Eala went on two win two straight matches in the said tournament. The 15-year old tennis ace defeated French national Margot Yerolymos in the first round and went on to beat Romanian Laura-Iona Paar in the next round.
