Former UFC contender and current Bellator MMA fighter Anthony Johnson has been arrested last weekend for identity theft, a report by Greenwich Daily Voice said.

According to a police report, Johnson's arrest was due to the illegal use of a credit card to purchase an airline ticket in November 2019.

A warrant of arrest came out 18 months later and Johnson was taken to custody a day after he knocked out Jose Barros in his promotional debut at Bellator 258.

He was released on a $500 bond and was given a court date later this month.

Johnson, 37, holds a mixed martial arts record of 23-6 and has fought former UFC two-division champion Daniel Cormier twice in his career.
