Here's what you need to know about NCAA Season 96 opening ceremony on Sunday


The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 96 opening ceremony is ready to hit the ground running on Sunday.

The star-studded event is set to be hosted by real-life couple Khalil Ramos and Gabbi Garcia as well as Sophia Senoron and Martin Javier, the hosts of the league primer "Rise Up Stronger: The Road to NCAA Season 96."

Shot in the state-of-the-art Studio 7 in GMA headquarters, the opening festivities will also feature Kapuso stars who will serve as flagbearers and muses for all 10 NCAA member schools.

Here's a complete list of flagbearers and muses:

  • Arellano University: Troy Noriega and Angela Alarcon
  • College of St. Benilde: Kimson Tan and Pam Prinster
  • Emilio Aguinaldo College: Carlo Tingtungco and Ysabel Ortega
  • Jose Rizal University: Kim de Leon and Lexi Gonzales
  • Lyceum of the Philippines University: Brent Valdez and Kyline Alcantara
  • Mapua University: Gab Yabut and Ayra Mariano
  • San Beda University: Manolo Pedrosa and Crystal Paras
  • San Sebastian College: Jamir Zabarte and Zonia Mejia
  • University of Perpetual Help System Dalta: Shaira Diaz and Jeremy Sabido
  • Colegio de San Juan de Letran: Mikee Quintos and Radson Flores

The GMA Network, the league's broadcast partner until 2026, has also prepared special performances by some of the network's prized talents such as Lani Misalucha, Aicelle Santos, and Kyline Alcantara.

League officials would also be present with NCAA management committee chairman Fr. Victor Calvo Jr., O.P. and NCAA Season 96 Policy Board president Fr. Clarence Victor C. Marquez, O.P. gracing the showpiece.

The opening ceremony will be followed by the virtual competitions featuring events in chess and taekwondo.
