EJ Obiena bags gold anew, defeats Olympic gold medalist Braz in Swedish tourney

Pole vaulter EJ Obiena won another gold medal ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.

Obiena topped the Taby Stav Gala Street Pole Vault in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday after clearing the 5.80-meter mark.

The pole vaulter defeated 2016 Olympics gold medalist Thiago Braz of Brazil, who also posted 5.80m.

On June 28, Obiena shared the gold medal with Braz in a German tilt.

Obiena's latest victory came days after the pole vaulter registered a new Philippine record in a Poland tournament where he settled for silver and cleared the 5.87 meter mark.
