Jerrold Mangliwan enters men's 400m T52 final round in Tokyo Paralympics

Jerrold Mangliwan is through to the final round of his favorite event.

The Filipino wheelchair racer placed 7th out of 10 contenders in the men's 400m T52 and will now contend for a medal in the championship round later tonight.

Mangliwan initially missed out on an outright finals berth after he clocked 1 minute and 3.41 seconds in Heat 1 but was able to progress to the medal round after he finished first among the next fastest after the top six athletes.

The final is slated for 7:16 p.m. tonight.

This is also the same event where Mangliwan competed in during the 2016 Rio Olympics. He also has two remaining events in 100m and 1500m.
