Wheelchair racer Jerrold Mangliwan sets personal best, finishes 6th in Paralympics men's 1500m finals

Filipino wheelchair racer Jerrold Mangliwan fell short of a podium finish but logged a new personal best mark in the men's 1500m - T52 finals of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics on Sunday.

Mangliwan clocked 3:58.24 to finish at 6th place in the tournament.

Japan's Tomoki Sato won the gold with 3:29.13 while USA's Raymond Martin settled for silver with 3:29.72. Sato's compatriot Hirokazu Ueyonabaru bagged the bronze with 3:44.17.

Mangliwan's campaign, however, is not yet over as he will still compete in the men's 100-meter event.

On Friday, Mangliwan also set his best performance in the men's 400m finals, but it was disqualified due to lane infringement.
