World champs Bren sweep MSC Champs Omega for first win of MPL PH S8

Bren Esports registered their first win in Season 8 as they dominated Smart Omega Esports, 2-0, in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines elimination round on Friday.

It was sweet revenge for Bren who suffered a reverse sweep to Execration, now playing under Omega, during the MPL PH Season 7 lower bracket finals after going up 2-0.

With Omega slowly mounting the pressure in Game 1, David “FlapTzy” Canon (Lapu-Lapu) executed a perfect Bravest Fighter + flicker combo in the 12th minute that took down two OMG members and shifted the momentum to Bren.

But despite the gold lead and superior map control, Bren needed another 5-0 wipeout in the 21st minute to finally take the lead.

Teen sensation Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Benedetta) recovered from a 0-2-1 early game KDA to finish with a strong 6-2-2 KDA. FlapTzy complemented with a 1-1-10 KDA.

Bren did not let up in Game 2 as they completely dismantled the 2021 MSC champions to complete the sweep. The Duckey-coached squad was so dominant that they were able to score back-to-back 3-0 wipes in the 8th and 9th minutes to completely annihilate Omega.

KarlTzy had another stellar performance with a 5-0-9 KDA while FlapTzy supplemented with a 1-0-5 KDA as the Tzy brothers led a 16-4 rampage on the Southeast Asian kings.

Bren now has 4 points to boot while Omega stays at 6pts.
