Yuka Saso finishes in joint fourth in Arkansas tiff

The Philippines' Yuka Saso wrapped up her 2021 Walmart NW Arkansas Championship campaign in fourth place at the Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers, Northwest Arkansas on Monday (Manila time).

The Filipino-Japanese golfer finished with a total of 199 and 14-under par 71 through all rounds of the 54-hole three-day tournament, which is part of this year's LPGA tour, to finish in a two-way tie with USA's Danielle Kang for the fourth spot.

Saso, an Olympian who represented the country in the Tokyo Games, is set to pocket $104,506 in prize money for her fourth-place finish.

Nasa Hataoka of Japan bagged the top honors after finishing with 16-under par while Eun-Hee Ji of South Korea and Minjee Lee of Australia were both at second place with 15-under.

Saso opened her campaign firing 69 in the first round, highlighted by four birdies and two bogeys, as she returned to the course after more than a month since finishing 39th in the AIG Women's Open.

She improved in the second round after a bogey-free performance to finish 65-under par and 8-under overall.

The 20-year-old ace closed out her campaign hitting two eagles in the third round along with four birdies and two bogeys.
