Sofia Frank registers highest short program score for a Filipina in an ISU tournament to place 18th in Finlandia Trophy
Figure skater Sofia Frank attained a new achievement on Saturday after registering the highest short program score for a Filipina in an International Skating Union (ISU) tournament.
Frank, who performed in Donna Summer's "Last Dance," scored 53.30 for the short program of the 2021 Finlandia Trophy, with a technical score of 29.21 and 24.09 for program components. Her routine included attempts for a triple lutz-triple toe loop combination, triple loop, and a double axel.
The 16-year old Filipina-American skater finished 18th at the end of the short program.
She will perform her free skate program tonight at 9:35 p.m.
Meanwhile, Skye Patenia finished 34th at the end of the ISU Junior Grand Prix: Cup of Austria held on Friday and Saturday. The 18-year old skater finished with 76.51 points at the end of the competition. Russians Sofia Muravieva and Anastasia Zinina finished 1st and 3rd place respectively, while American Isabeau Levito landed in the second spot.
