Julian Macaraeg bows out in men's 1500m in ISU World Cup Short Track

Speed skater Julian Macaraeg failed to land a spot in the quarterfinals of the men's 1500-meter event of the ISU World Cup Short Track on Thursday in Beijing, China.

Macaraeg clocked in 2:27.362 to finish sixth among all skaters in Heat 4 of the competition.

Only the top two skaters from each heat and up to a maximum of fourteen fastest third placers will qualify to the quarterfinals. There are 14 heats in the tournament.

Macaraeg will still compete in the 500-meter event this afternoon and the 1000-meter event on Friday. — LA, GMA News
