Baloyskie's exploits tow Onic PH to sweep of RRQ, secure top 3 finish in MLBB M3 World Championship

Onic Philippines booked the first ticket to the upper bracket finals as they swept Indonesia's RRQ Hoshi, 3-0, in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M3 World Championship on Wednesday.

The Filipinos had to weather a violent RRQ storm in Game 3 and leaned on the heroics of Allen "Baloyskie" Baloy's "Championship Natalia" to dismantle the Indonesian puzzle and complete the sweep.

Onic opened the series with a bang as they dominated RRQ in Game 1 courtesy of Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol (Lancelot) who was instrumental in a pivotal 4-0 wipe in the 8th minute. His triple kill in that sequence helped Onic take a 3k gold lead.

A 5-3 wipeout in the 10th minute further widened the gap as Onic waylaid RRQ the rest of the way with a 19-7 kill conquest, 1-0.

The Indonesian King of Kings was not to be outdone though, scoring five unanswered kills after a close opening in Game 2 to establish a 10-5 kill lead and negate Onic's early game gold lead courtesy of Deden "Clay" Mohamed's (Lou Yi) crowd control burst en route to a 3-1-5 KDA.

With their backs against the wall, Onic veered away from team fights and relied on their "banana split" strategy as they took down RRQ's turrets one after the other.

A sneaky 20th minute lord take and a miraculous base turret "suicide push" was then executed by Onic to reach match point, 2-0. They won Game 2 despite a 17-10 kill deficit.

RRQ then tried to impose their will early in Game 3 as they established a 5-1 kill lead by the 4th minute to post a 2k gold lead.

Despite RRQ controlling major stretches of the match, Onic was always able to fend off all base turret pushes and extended the match deep into late game.

Baloyskie, despite suffering from numerous deaths all game long, initiated a 2-0 counter in the 27th minute with a sneaky back line attack as Onic took control and took down RRQ in one fell swoop, 3-0.

The Onic PH captain finished with a 6-10-2 KDA but scored the much needed kills from RRQ to catapult the Philippines into at least a top 3 finish.
