Onic PH announces intact roster for Season 9 as hunt for MPL title continues

Is it finally Onic's time?

Onic Philippines will not be breaking up the core that steered the team to a couple of bridesmaid finishes as they head into the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 9.

The team on Wednesday announced that it is out to keep the same roster it had when Onic PH finished in second place in MPL Season 8 and the M3 World Championship, both of which were ultimately ruled by rival Blacklist International.

"Nothing new, kami pa rin 'to mga ka-ONIC," said the team in a Facebook post.

Still at the helm is head coach Paul Denver “Yeb” Miranda while Allen Jedric "Baloyskie" Baloy will still hold his position as the team captain.

With them are star players Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol, Mark “Markyyyyy” Capacio,  Gerald “Dlarskie” Trinchera, and Jaylord "Hatred" Gonzales while serving as reserves are Karl Mico "Micophobia" Tarala, Nowee "Ryota" Cabailo, and Paul Ian "Beemo" Sergio.

Onic has a golden chance to dominate the upcoming season as Blacklist will be without two of its core players, Johnmar "OhMyv33nus" Villaluna and Danerie James "Wise" Del Rosario, who earlier announced they would take a break this season.

But the road won't be easy for Onic as squads like Echo and Bren Esports are out to pull some surprises with their retooled squads.

MPL Philippines Season 9 is pegged to open on February 18.
