Alex Eala advances to second round of W25 Manacor

Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala started 2022 on a winning note as she defeated Slovenia's Ella Hojnik in the W25 Manacor tournament on Sunday in Manacor, Spain.

Eala defeated Hojnik, 6-1, 6-1, to advance to the second round of the tournament.

The 16-year old young tennis star will face Slovakia's Mia Chudejova on Monday.

If Eala wins the tourney, she will take home the prize money of $25,000.

Eala last played in the 2021 Junior Orange Bowl Tennis Championships, where she finished in the quarterfinals in the girls doubles event and made an early exit in the girls singles event.

Back in January 2021, Eala won her first professional title in the W15 Manacor tournament.
