Alex Eala advances to third round of W25 Manacor qualifying draw

Alex Eala racked up another win on Monday in the qualifying draw of the W25 ITF Manacor tournament in Spain.

Eala defeated Slovakia's Mia Chudejova in the second round, 7-6(2), 6-3 to advance to the final round of the tournament, before advancing to the main draw.

The young tennis star will face France's Alice Rame in the third round scheduled later today.

Rame won over Italy's Margherita Viglietti in the second round, 6-0, 6-0.

In a Facebook post, Eala shared that she is happy to be back in competition.

"It’s good to be back competing! I won my 1st and 2nd round qualifying matches here at the ITF 25k Pro Tournament," she said.

Should Eala claim the title, the 16-year old tennis ace will take home the prize money of $25,000.

Prior to the Manacor tournament, Eala last played in the 2021 Junior Orange Bowl Tennis Championship last December.

Back in January 2021, Eala won her first professional title in the W15 Manacor tournament.
