Asa Miller shifts focus to slalom after DNF in giant slalom

Filipino-American alpine skier Asa Miller is shifting his focus to his next event after an early exit in the giant slalom event on Sunday in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

"Onto the next...slalom coming at you on the 16th," Miller wrote in the caption of his post hours after his giant slalom stint.

The Olympian admitted that not all things work out, especially with a sport like alpine skiing.

"Charged hard out the gate today, and sometimes it doesn’t all work out," he said. "Ski racing’s tough like that, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to be out here."

Despite missing the second run of his event, Miller said he is proud of his friends in the competition and their achievements.

"Even though it wasn’t my day, I’m super proud of all my friends who achieved and fought like hell for it."

Earlier, his coach Will Gregorak also said Miller will 'put his head into slalom mode' after registering a DNF (Did Not Finish) in the first run of the event.

Wednesday's event will wrap up Miller's stint in the Beijing Winter Games.
