Mark Striegl knocked out again in second UFC fight

Filipino-American mixed martial arts fighter Mark Striegl suffered another stoppage loss in the UFC, this time against Chas Skelly on the prelims of UFC Fight Night this Sunday at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, USA.

The 33-year-old Striegl and Skelly exchanged strikes in the early going but the fight soon went to the mat where the latter displayed that he is the better grappler between the two. The scuffle took a toll on Striegl, with him appearing to be tired heading into the next round.

Striegl, who was defeated in 51 seconds in his UFC debut, opted to stand and trade again in the second round. He landed a left straight that did not bother Skelly before the UFC veteran closed the distance and unleashed a knee that sent him crashing to the canvas.

While on the mat, Skelly followed up with a barrage of punches that prompted the referee to halt the contest at the 2:01 mark of round two. The win improved Skelly’s record to 19-3 while Striegl fell to 18-4.
