Alex Eala to kick off Miami Open campaign vs American Madison Brengle

Wildcard entry Alex Eala is set to tangle with a veteran tennis ace as she opens her 2022 Miami Open campaign on Wednesday at the Hard Rock Stadium.

The Filipina teen tennis sensation will unfurl her bid in the Round of 128 where she will face off against hometown bet Madison Brengle, who is a lot more experienced than the Philippine bet with a WTA no. 59 ranking.

Eala, meanwhile, is currently placed 565th in WTA singles and 748th in doubles category.

A win by the 16-year-old Eala would allow her to meet Russian Liudmila Samsonova who earned an opening-round bye.

Eala earned a wildcard draw last week alongside big names in Naomi Osaka and Sofia Kenin.
