SM Cinemas to host MPL PH Season 9 watch party as league welcomes fans back for playoffs

More avenues to watch the playoffs round of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 9 are in the offing as the local esports fixture forged a partnership with SM Cinemas.

Happening at selected SM Cinema branches, the four-day playoff stage will kick off on April 28 until May 1.

Tickets are sold at P170 with SM City San Lazaro, SM City Manila, SM City Sta. Mesa, SM City Taytay, SM City Masinag, SM City BF Parañaque, SM City Sucat and SM City Bicutan joining the watch party.

In a separate statement, Moonton, the developer behind Mobile Legends, said it will also start welcoming back live audiences in the playoffs set to take place at the Function Hall 3, SMX Convention Center, Pasay.

To win a ticket, a fan should tell why they are the biggest MPL-PH fans and tag friends they want to bring. Entrants should place their comments on the MPL-PH's official Facebook post to submit a response.

Eight (8) winners of two (2) general audience tickets and one (1) winner of two (2) VIP tickets will be announced on April 23.

"We are excited to finally welcome our fans to the MPL-PH Season 9 Playoffs," says Tonyo Silva, Esports Senior Marketing Manager for the Philippines.

"We hope to provide our loyal fans with action-packed live matches and a chance to see their favorite teams, while strictly adhering to the health and safety protocols."

Eight teams will vie for the national title as former world champions Blacklist International and Bren Esports have earlier crashed out of contention.
