Aqua takes flight in helping RSG secure MSC 2022 ticket

After making waves in the regular season by taking the top spot, RSG Philippines continued to impress by punching the first ticket to the MLBB Southeast Asian Cup 2022 in Malaysia.

The team hasn't dropped a single match in the playoffs on the way to their first-ever grand finals appearance in franchise history.

One of the key players who glued the team together was midlaner Arvie "Aquaaa" Calderon. His exploits in Day 2 of the playoffs enabled RSG to mount a massive comeback over Onic Philippines in the close out Game 3 where he combined with Dylan "Light" Catipon to force a crucial 2-0 pick off that turned the tables in their favor.

In their upper bracket finals match against TNC Pro Philippines, he once again displayed brilliance with his Yve and Pharsa picks in Games 2 and 3, where his superb positioning and execution of the ultimate skills helped his team win multiple team fights.

Surprisingly, his midlane prowess is self-taught as he strives to take his game to the next level.

"Sa sarili ko lang 'yung sinusunod ko. Sariling instincts. Sariling galaw. Sariling play. Kasi mahilig ako lagi mag-review. Lahat ng mga nakakatapat ko na pos4, pinapanood ko tapos pinag-aaralan ko ang mga positioning nila at inaadapt ko," he said.

Some may say that with his recent success, he is now arguably the best midlaner in the MPL Philippines landscape but he begs to differ.

"Di ko sure eh (kung ako ang best midlaner). Gusto ko ipakita sa MSC," he said.
