Jerrold Mangliwan, Angel Otom add more golds to Philippines' haul in ASEAN Para Games
Jerrold Mangliwan and Angel Otom on Monday added their own gold medals to the Philippines' medal collection in the 11th ASEAN Para Games held in Indonesia.
Paralympian Mangliwan finished first in the men's wheelchair 100-meter T52 event after clocking in 19.18 seconds. Angel Otom, meanwhile, won swimming's third gold after Ernie Gawilan and Roland Sabido as she ruled the women's 50-meter backstroke with a time of 41.68 seconds.
Achelle Guion of powerlifting placed second in the women's 54-kg division to claim silver.
Jezebel Tordecilla (women's discus throw F55), Arman Dino (men's 100m T47), Jobert Lumanta and Jayson Ocampo (men's table tennis class 8), and Joel Balatucan (men's shot put F55) claimed bronze medals from their events.
Overall, the Philippines currently has five gold medals in the regional meet.
