Omega blanks MSC champs RSG in MPL Philippines opener
Omega Esports delivered a testament win in their Season 10 debut with a 2-0 victory of MLBB Southeast Asian Cup (MSC) champions RSG Philippines in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines opening slate on Friday.
Still reeling from their painful 3-2 loss to RSG in the MSC lower bracket finals, Omega proved that they are still one of the teams to beat with a clean sweep of the Season 9 champions.
It was a total team effort for Omega in the opener with match MVP Duane "Kelra" Pillas (Claude) spearheading the way and finishing with an immaculate 3-0-4 KDA.
Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog also provided the highlight reel with a massive Wild Charge set up on Nathanael "Nathzz" Estrologo (Esmeralda) in the 12th minute that touched off a 3-0 wipe leading to the opening win, 1-0.
Dean Christian "Raizen" Sumagui (Thamuz) and Patrick "E2MAX" Caidic (Selena) also played perfect finishing with 3-0-4 and 3-0-6 KDAs, respectively.
It looked like an equalizer was on the way when RSG scored a crucial 5-1 wipeout in a 17th minute top lane clash in Game 2.
But Kelra (Beatrix) displayed superior marksmanship during an 18th minute lord fight, first bursting down Dylan "Light" Catipon (Franco) then delivering the goods to spark a 5-2 wipeout to complete the sweep.
