Kelra flashes vintage form, leads Omega in sweep vs TNC
Gold laner Duane "Kelra" Pillas gave Kiel VJ "Kielvj" Hernandez and Deomark "Mikko" Tabangay their first win of the season as Omega Esports executed a 2-0 sweep of TNC Pro Team in Week 2 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Sunday.
Kiel and Mikko debuted for Omega this season against Blacklist International in Week 1 and provided solid performances but suffered from comeback losses in a sweep.
This time, Kelra took matters into his own hands as Omega scored their third win in four matches to tie Onic Philippines for second place at 8 points apiece.
Kelra (Wanwan) opened the series with a quick 3-0-0 KDA that he extended into a 5-0-0 KDA after a turnaround double kill during an 8th minute ambush.
Omega was in complete control of the match until TNC executed a nifty diversion play, placing three members hidden on the top lane while leaving two members camping near the lord area in the bottom lane.
That move proved effective as the diversion tactic forced the 2021 MSC champions to respond to the top lane invasion, leaving Dean Christian "Raizen" Sumagui (Paquito) defenseless as Daniel "SDzyz" Chu (Benedetta) secured the lord.
But Kelra refused to concede, as he outplayed Robee Bryan "Yasuwo" Pormocille (Beatrix) on an off-cam 1-on-1 kill in the 21st minute that helped Omega complete the base turret push and go up 1-0.
The MSC 2021 MVP sustained his lethal form, totally outclassing Yasuwo (Clint) in Game 2 as he easily took a 3-0-0 KDA by the 7th minute while taking down two outer turrets.
He had another daredevil display in the 8th minute as he fought a 1-on-4 clash and came out unscathed to score a triple kill.
Kelra finished with a massive 11-0-1 KDA to lead Omega's 14-2 kill dominance in the sweep.
