Onic slays another champion, deals Blacklist first season loss
Onic Philippines worked like a well-oiled machine as they took down another contender in Blacklist International via a 2-0 in Week 3 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Friday.
With the win, Onic has now taken down the past MPL Philippines champions from Season 7 after their Week 2 victory over RSG Philippines. They now lead the league with a 4-1 win-loss card (11 points).
Onic showed up right away in Game 1 as they took a 3-0 kill spread at the 2nd minute mark and continued to dictate the tempo until securing the first lord of the match during the 10th minute.
But the M3 world champions refused to give in and relied on their macro to catch Onic off guard, taking four unanswered kills in the late game and regain control of the map.
The two-time MPL PH champions then flashed their vintage UBE strategy in shutting down Onic during a 17th minute lord fight for a 4-0 wipe but were caught flat-footed when Kenneth "Nets" Barro (Bruno) headed to the opposite during the team fight and survived long enough to complete the one-way push, 1-0.
The hedgehogs built on their opening victory as they commanded control in Game 2, conceding only one death until emerging with a 2-1 exchange in the 12th minute.
Nets (Irithel) once again came up big as he scored a double during a lengthy 18th team fight, helping Onic secure the enhanced lord.
Ralph "Rapidoot" Adrales (Atlas) then executed a four-man Fatal Links setup in the 20th minute, which Nets complemented with kills to complete the sweep.
Nets finished with a massive 9-0-2 KDA to lead Onic's 14-4 kill annhilation of Blacklist.
