Onic PH continues surprise surge, downs Omega for solo top spot

Rookie-laden Onic Philippines stretched its magical run in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Season 10 after stealing a 2-1 victory over powerhouse Smart Omega on Saturday.

Omega, whose core ruled the MSC 2021 under the flagship of Execration, dominated the opening game with Kelra's wonderful use of WanWan, steering the team to a 13-11 kill spree.

But Onic proved it is a force to be reckoned with in the league, winning the next two games with Sensui (Karina) and Super Frince (Selena) taking turns getting the MVP honors in Games Two and Three, respectively.

Onic claimed the top spot with a 5-1 win-loss card while Omega dropped to 4-2.

Onic has now beaten three champion teams in a row after it pulled off upset victories against Season 9 champion RSG Philippines and M3 World Champion Blacklist International.

Meanwhile, Echo kept TNC winless with a 2-1 triumph to wrap up the triple-header Saturday.

KurtTzy (Xavier) scattered six kills and 10 assists in the 16-11 Game Two kill spree before 3Mar showed the way in Game Three, where he had a 2-1-3 KDA.

Echo improved to 3-1 for solo fourth spot, while TNC remained at the bottom of the team standings with a 0-5 slate. —VBL, GMA News
