Nexplay survives thriller vs TNC to snap six-game slide
Nexplay EVOS snapped a six-game losing skid via a 2-1 reverse sweep of fellow cellar-dwelling TNC Pro Team in Week 5 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Saturday.
NXPE asserted their mastery of TNC, whom they also took down via a 2-0 sweep in the first round of the season. They improved to eight points after their second season win but stayed at the seventh spot.
It was a nip-and-tuck affair in Game 1 with no definitive leads established from the early to midgame until TNC pulled off a sensational 2-0 wipe in the 15th minute to secure the lord and take down to inhibitor turrets.
The Phoenix army then treaded beautifully during a lengthy 19th minute skirmish in the enemy base turret where they emerged victorious after perfectly committing to a 5-0 wipeout.
Robee Bryan "Yasuwo" Pormocille (Beatrix) shone the brightest as his triple kill in the final team fight led to the opening win. He finished with an immaculate 6-0-4 KDA.
NXPE came roaring back in Game 2 though with Renejay "RENEJAY" Barcase (Dyrroth) providing the distraction from the top lane in a 9th minute bottom lane lord fight.
Ken Louie "Kzen" Pile (Akai) took down Daniel "SDzyz" Chu (Thamuz) to take the lord followed by Mico "Micophobia" Quitlong's (Khufra) pinpoint Tyrant's Revenge plus Tyrant's Rage set-up. Jeniel "YellyHaze" Bata-anon (Xavier) capped off with a devastating Dawning Light to score a 3-0 wipe.
TNC responded with a 3-2 exchange in a lengthy 14th minute team fight as Mark "Kramm" Rustana (Esmeralda) crumbled NXPE's backline with a no fear aggression to secure the enhanced lord.
With TNC in full control of the map after taking down three inhibitor turrets, Kzen positioned superbly during a 21st minute lord dance, initiating the clash from behind TNC's defensive line to pin down SDzyz and Yasuwo (Popol and Kupa) with the Heavy Spin to score a 3-0 ambush and secure the evolved lord.
Kzen once again executed another pivotal Heavy Spin in the 23rd minute that kickstarted a quick 2-0 pick off for the equalizer.
Nexplay then played a calculated Game 3, relying on the macro to command control of the map. They secured all the lords of the match, using the latest one to wipe out two inhibitor turrets and finish off TNC's base turret.
NXPE shrugged off SDzyz's (Fanny) perfect 3-0-0 KDA with better macro management in a low-kill affair, finishing with a 6-4 kill tally in a 17-minute encounter.
