Reigning ONE strawweight world champion Joshua Pacio guaranteed that his taping for ONE Warrior Series Philippines did not get in the way of his preparation for his upcoming title defense against Jarred Brooks on December 3 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Pacio is one of the coaches of the new reality TV show ONE Warrior Series that airs on GTV every Sunday at 9:30 PM. The series showcases 16 aspiring MMA fighters around the Philippines battling for a ONE Championship contract worth $100,000.

“I was already ready before the show because the fight was supposed to be in June and I was in condition. I was ready to get my weight two weeks before and then the show started. What I needed was to avoid fatigue, maintain [my weight], and train my skills,” Pacio said.

“The conditioning, not much because the fight was canceled. I honed my skills and did drills so I had time to improve my wrestling and grappling. While I was coaching [for the show] I find time to train to sharpen my skills.”

Pacio, 20-3 as a mixed martial arts fighter, last saw action in September 2021 when he defeated his Japanese rival Yosuke Saruta via first-round technical knockout. Despite his busy schedule, Pacio guaranteed that ONE Warrior Series did not hinder his preparation for his upcoming bout.

“It did not [get in the way]. The show is over and I have three months to prepare. I will be back to strength and conditioning,” Pacio stated.
