RSG makes their move in upper bracket race with win over streaking Echo

RSG Philippines opened Week 8 with an all-important 2-1 win over league-leading Echo to continue to contest for the two upper bracket slots in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Saturday.

The MSC 2022 champions upped their total to 20pts (7-5) while closing in on Echo (9-3) with 24 pts and Blacklist (7-4) who has 22pts.

RSG opened the series with urgency, taking a 4-0 kill lead by the 3rd minute to go along with a 2k net worth lead courtesy of Arvie “Aqua” Antonio's (Pharsa) 2-0-1 KDA.

Owning to the early game dominance, the Raiders easily secured the first lord of the match in the 9th minute to take down all enemy outher turrets while also conceding one to widen the net worth gap to 7k.

The defending champions completely shut off Echo the rest of the way, taking the opener via a 5-2 wipe out in the 14th minute with a commanding 17-6 lead on the kill tally, 1-0.

Game 2 boiled down to a lengthy 14th minute team fight that saw Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera (Chou) execute a pinpoint Way of the Dragon set-up on Dylan “Light” Catipon (Atlas) that touched off a 3-1 exchange, giving Echo the space and map control to secure the lord.

Not even a 4-0 punish by RSG in the 17th minute could stop the bleeding as the Orcas shrugged it off right away and easily secured the next enhanced lord to score the equalizer, 1-1.

Needing a win to stay in contention of the upper bracket slots, RSG started to take control of the decider after securing a 4-1 wipe off a 5th minute turtle fight that they complemented with a 2-1 trade off in the 7th minute to post a 9-4 kill spread and a 4k gold lead.

They did not look back from there, conceding only one death the rest of the way, en route to a massive 15-5 lead on the kill tally in an 18-minute conquest.
