Hidilyn Diaz reigns supreme for gold medals in Weightlifting World Championship


Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz is now a world champion after ruling the women's 55 kg event in the IWF World Weightlifting Championships in Bogota, Colombia.

Diaz topped the clean and jerk after lifting 93 kg on her second attempt to bag her first gold, while she cleared 114 kg in her first attempt in the snatch to get her second gold.

She lifted 207 kg in total, the best record among the 10 competitors for the gold medals in their weight class.

The medals add to Hidilyn Diaz' haul which now has an Olympic gold and silver, an Asian Games gold, and multiple gold medals in the Southeast Asian Games.
