Echo sends RRQ Hoshi packing, sets up another all-Filipino M4 grand finals

JAKARTA — It's an all-Filipino title showdown after all.

Echo sent RRQ Hoshi packing, 3-1, during their lower bracket finals clash in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M4 World Championship on Saturday at the Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan.

The win allowed Echo, which dropped to the lower bracket after a loss to compatriot Blacklist International, to set up a best-of-seven grand finals series opposite the Codebreakers.

The Philippines is now assured of a third straight title after Bren Esports conquered M2 while Blacklist ruled M3.

It was a usual dominant Echo in Game One, bringing RRQ back to reality with a 17-6 win to steal the opener in 15 minutes and 59 seconds. Of those 17 kills, Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya took five alongside seven assists against one death on his Yu Zhong.

But the Indonesians needed just less than 14 minutes to level the series with Albert "Alberttt" Iskandar's perfect 6/0/6 KDA, including the first kill on Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno's Chou to send RRQ to a Game Two conquest.

Sanford came through once more for the Orcas in Game Three, this time with Lapu-Lapu as the EXP laner gave Echo the match point behind a stellar 4/1/13 line.

It was all Echo from there, denying RRQ Hoshi a chance to bring the game to a decider.

Echo and Blacklist will duke it out for glory on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. (6:30 p.m. in Manila).
