Philippines to host ML:BB M5 World Championship in December 2023

JAKARTA — The long wait is over as after four editions, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M5 World Championship will be hosted by the Philippines in December 2023.

Moonton, the developer behind the mobile game, announced the news on Sunday during the M4 World Championship Grand Finals held in Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia.

This is the first time that the Philippines will host the world tournament as Malaysia hosted the M1 back in 2019, where Evos Legends of Indonesia captured the title over RRQ Hoshi. Singapore then hosted both the M2 and M3, where the Philippines' Bren Esports and Blacklist seized the crown, respectively.

Bren survived Burmese Ghouls of Myanmar in seven games while Blacklist swept compatriot Onic Philippines.

With the Philippines hosting the M5, and with two Filipino squads in Blacklist and Echo contending for the M4 crown, a Filipino team will get the chance to defend its title in front of a home crowd and possibly deliver the country's fourth straight crown.
