Jamahal Hill wins UFC light heavyweight title and retires Teixeira at UFC 283

Jamahal Hill is the new UFC light heavyweight world champion following a dominant unanimous decision victory over Glover Teixeira in the main event of UFC 283 this Sunday (Philippine time) at Jeunesse Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Hill was on the attack from start to finish and busted up the durable 43-year-old veteran. Teixeira often found a way to survive, but never found a way to turn the tide in his favor as he suffered a beating until the final bell.

“In reality, I think I’m too tough for my own good. Too tough for my own health. I can’t keep up anymore. I’m going to focus my energy on Alex Pereira (UFC middleweight world champion),” said Teixeira after the fight.

In the end, all three judges saw the contest for Hill after five five-minute rounds. He improved his record to 12-1 while the former UFC light heavyweight world champion ended his mixed martial arts career with a record of 33-9.
