EJ Obiena snaps streak of podium finishes, places last in French meet
Filipino Olympian and pole vaulter EJ Obiena wound up at last place in the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais in Arena Stade Couvert, Liévin in France early Thursday morning (Manila time).
Obiena cleared 5.64 meters to finish at the very bottom of ten competitors, snapping his streak of podium finishes in the indoor pole vault season.
Sweden's Armand Duplantis topped the tournament with 6.01 meters, while Italy's Claudio Michel Stecchi placed second at 5.82 meters due to countback. Kurtis Marschall and Jacob Wooten were tied at third, also at 5.82 meters, as they cleared in two attempts.
