Fabricio Andrade is the new ONE bantamweight world champion following an impressive fourth-round technical knockout over John Lineker in the main event of ONE Fight Night 7 this Saturday at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Lineker went to press the action early throwing leg kicks and punches to the body before surprisingly going for a takedown that caught Andrade off guard. Both fighters landed hard shots of their own that momentarily stunned each other.

Before the end of round one, Andrade landed a series of punches that made Lineker look ready to go but was saved by the bell.

Lineker worked the leg in round two while Andrade stayed behind his jab straight making the former slow down halfway through the stanza. Lineker came out swinging in round three but soon fought backward as Andrade looked to be the fresher fighter between the two.

Andrade switched to southpaw in round 4 still utilizing his jab and throwing his trademark knee to the body before a series of punches drew a cut on top of Lineker's right eye. Battered and running on fumes, Lineker waved the white flag before the start of round 5 earning Andrade a TKO victory.

"We know we already have a contender in line. Loman, you want this? Come and get it,” Andrade said after the fight, referring to the no. 3 rated bantamweight in the world Stephen Loman of Team Lakay.

The win improved Andrade’s professional mixed martial arts record to 9-2 while the former world titleholder Lineker dropped to 35-10.
