Dana White hails Jon Jones as MMA GOAT after winning UFC heavyweight title

UFC President Dana White is convinced that two-division champion Jon Jones is the greatest mixed martial artist of all time after he captured the UFC heavyweight world title by beating Ciryl Gane via submission this past weekend in Las Vegas.

Jones, 35, was coming off a three-year layoff and made his heavyweight debut against the former interim champion Gane. Despite the long break and added weight, Jones made easy work out of Gane as he forced the latter to tap from a guillotine choke just two minutes into the fight.

“Anybody deny this guy is the GOAT anymore? I do not think anybody would deny. Not only that he is the greatest light heavyweight ever, he looks like the greatest heavyweight ever too,” said White.

“There were a couple of interviews leading up to the fight where he was saying, 'I would make this look easy.' I thought it was a silly thing to say. The guy is unf—ingbelievable. There is no doubt that Jon Jones is special. He has fought all the best competition out there.”

It was soon announced that former UFC heavyweight world titleholder Stipe Miocic is up next for Jones after the latter won the heavyweight title to improve his MMA record to 27-1. For Jones, there is simply no better opponent than Miocic, who is touted as the UFC heavyweight GOAT.

“One thing I know about the UFC is we give the fans what they want to see. Stipe Miocic, I hope you're training my guy. You're the greatest heavyweight of all time and that is what I want. I want you real bad,” Jones stated.
